This fanciful story exemplifies the value and joy of friendship from the point of view of a little girl. Young and carefree, the little girl frolics across the beautiful countryside, playing with her animate and inanimate friends along the way. These friends all take part in teaching the little girl how to play in their own particular fashion: the rooster teaches her to march, the ant teaches her to explore, the horse teaches her to run, and the monkey teaches her to climb. Of course, books teach her how to study! The moral of the story: There is friendship everywhere!
